I periodically think about adding new types of products and services, but I'm not sure how flexible Magento 2 is to handle such an expansion and what pitfalls might there be?

I wanted to add new types of products, but I was afraid that Magento wouldn't be able to handle it. It turned out that magento 2 custom grid export csv already has ready—made modules, and everything connects to them in a couple of steps, so I just followed the instructions and implemented the necessary functions without any problems.
