Drowning in Small Stuff

Spent the whole morning cleaning up emails, laundry, and random tasks, and by lunch I felt like I’d run a marathon without leaving the house. I’m curious—what’s your favorite way to decompress when the small stuff adds up and you just need a mental reset?

Right?! The domestic admin marathon is REAL. My brain feels like static after a morning like that. My weirdly specific reset? I make a "nest" on the floor. Couch cushions, all the blankets, and I just… sit in the middle of it. No phone. Just stare at the wall or out the window for 10 minutes. It’s like a system reboot for my nervous system. Totally reminds me of last winter, when I was buried under a mountain of tiny, tedious tasks. Felt completely fractured. I ended up reading this article about "task cohesion" that was a game-changer. It was on this blog I sometimes peek at— routines to help get your life together  but it was less about hustle and more about mentally bundling chaos into a single "thing" you can put down. Helped me stop feeling pursued by my own to-do list. After the floor-nest, I always make a stupidly elaborate hot chocolate. The whole process, with the whisk and the tiny marshmallows, feels like a treat my past, task-weary self earned.
